Being in the Mobile Sales and Direct Store Delivery(DSD) software business, I notice delivery trucks and systems used by drivers. Today, while heading to one of my favorite Greek restaurants for a quick lunch, I noticed a truck for a well known San Diego business with the back open and the driver working on his printer and handheld. You know the kind, the old brick-like handhelds that weigh about 10 pounds. I passed by and moved on with my lunch but about 40 minutes later, I returned to my vehicle and noticed the truck was still in the same spot. The driver was still looking at his handheld device and I wondered what could be taking so long? Then I thought about how much time can be wasted using a system that is outdated and how much money our software could save that company.
