Definition of PORTAL

1 : the approach or entrance to a bridge or tunnel

2 : DOOR, ENTRANCE; especially : a grand or imposing one

3 : a website serving as a guide or point of entry to the World Wide Web and usually including a search engine or a collection of links to other sites arranged especially by topic

I was intrigued to find these definitions of a portal when writing this post because they’re such a great description of FwdMbl Portals!

 

Our approach to connectivity gives employees and customers access to the data they need, when they need it.  We call our approach “Role Based Programming”, whether applying it to a mobile app or our robust portals.  You could think of this as a tunnel, depending on your role, into the data. Consider invoice data as an example. A B2C App and Customer Portal will show invoices for the customer. A B2B or Employee Portal will allow users to lookup any customer and view their invoice data. The common thread is Invoice Data in our example. Our users have distinct “roles” and therefore need to access the data differently.
